Marske Make It A Double NEW MARSKE Seniors picked up their second trophy of the season after a 3-1 win over Annfield Plain in the Monkwearmouth Charity Cup Final at Gurney Street this morning. Martin Say opened the scoring with a shot from distance just short of the quarter hour mark but Annfield Plain drew level scoring direct from a free kick on 30 minutes. Two second half goals from Sean Mackin secured the trophy and keep New Marske on target for an impressive treble. New Marske will face Wolviston in the League Cup final to be held at Wolviston on Wednesday 14 May after they defeated today's opponents in their semi-final clash 2-0 on Saturday.

Under
10's Are Champions, Too NEW MARSKE U-10's last night emulated the senior's title success by securing the TJFA NR Division 2 title with a 3-0 win over Beechwood. After a nervous and goalless first half, New Marske opened the scoring just two minutes after the break when BILLY WARD danced through the Beechwood defence before smashing the ball into the top corner. Two goals from JAKE STEEL settled the game; his first a tap in after Jack Morris' shot stopped short of the goal line, and his second a far post header from Billy Ward's cross. Well done, boys!

We
Are The Champions THE SENIORS wrapped up the Wearside League title in emphatic style last night. Needing just a point to be crowned champions, New Marske put five past third placed Sunderland Ryhope without reply in front of the Gurney Street crowd. MARTIN SAY got the ball rolling heading New Marske in front after just 8 minutes and MICHAEL MACKIN's deflected shot made it 2-0 three minutes later. A misplaced Ryhope back pass fell kindly for DANE BRECKON who made no mistake to complete the first half scoring. Just short of the hour mark, SEAN MACKIN added the fourth and ANDREW MITCHELL's simple tap in rounded off a memorable night.

We're supporting Kick4Life Kick4Life IS A registered charity that uses football as a tool to fight poverty and disease in the world's poorest countries. As the most popular game on the planet, football has the power to unite, bring hope and create opportunities. The vision of Kick4Life is the effective and widespread use of football as a tool for tackling poverty and disease in the developing world. New Marske Sports Club is supporting Kick4Life by asking members to donate as many used playing kits and boots that we can lay our hands on. The project organisers are currently in Lesotho and it would be great if we could have some gear to handover when they return. If you have anything to donate you can drop it off behind the bar at the New Marske Sports Club. Alternatively you can give it to Joe Cole, who is co-ordinating the collection. Thank you!
