NEW MARSKE 4 - 2 THIRSK FALCONS
Sunday 27 April 2008

The game was played in perfect footballing conditions at Grewgrass with Thirsk bringing a large support. Mark Graham making his debut opened the scoring with a tap in goal after fine work from both Aaron Cable and Aaron Hodgson but the lead was soon recovered when a free kick was blasted in by Thirsk. Thirsk had two more chances but solid goalkeeping by Thomas Beeforth made sure the score stayed level. Before half time New Marske took the lead again when Aaron Hodgson continued his scoring weekend.

In the second half Ben Mackin, Jack Bowman and Markus Sigsworth defended well and pressure lead to 2 more goals from Aaron Cable. With minutes to go Thirsk hit one back.

NEW MARSKE 0 - 0 STOKESLEY
Sunday 13 April 2008

New Marske entertained Stokesley who are a well established under 7s team and held the visitors to a goalless draw. With the New Marske goal under pressure the Stokesley attack had no answer to the great defending from the back 3 of Marcus Sigsworth, Jack Bowman and Ben Catchpole backed up with re-assuring goalkeeping from Thomas Beeforth. In midfield Ben Mackin worked hard trying to both defend and move forward but captain Aaron Cable and Aaron Hodgson had very few chances to break the Stokesley defence. But credit to all the players for a very good performance.

In the second match the reserves were beaten 0-4 with Jack Dewer being the star for New Marske.
