NEW MARSKE 2 - 3 KLINGERS
Friday 23 November 2007

New Marske had played local rivals Klingers on Friday night and after playing some great football and dominating the 1st half all they had to show was a 1 goal lead from Billy Ward. The 2nd half saw Klingers look a more determined team and where certainly quicker into the tackle and determined to get something from the game. However it was New Marske who increased their lead, By now Billy had a man marker attached to him but this did not stop the leagues top scorer from adding his 2nd, with his man tight behind and the ball played into his feet he turned his man and left him in his wake as he set off and dispatched the ball past the keeper. New Marske then made further changes with 7 minutes to go and this seemed to upset the team, and klingers determination to get something started to reap dividends. The 1st a wonderfully struck shot from out side the box, the 2nd a defensive mix up seeing the ball run across the box to be slotted into the open goal and the third a free kick which went 'under' the wall and into the far corner, this completed a great comeback for klingers and ended the poorest half of football New Marske have played a very very long time.

NEW MARSKE 4 - 2 LOFTUS
Friday 16 November 2007

New Marske played Loftus on Friday night, knowing that they needed a win to keep within touching distance of the leaders, and all seemed to be going to plan when Jake Steel opened the scoring direct from a corner however 2 quick goals from Loftus turned the match on it's head and at this point Loftus where asking all the questions and New Marske did not appear to have the answers. Ben Cutter then settled New Marske nerves timing his run to perfection to meet a corner from Jake, powering a header into the back of the net. This seemed to settle New Marske and 2 goals from Billy Ward one after a superb solo run saw New Marske run out winners 4-2.

NEW MARSKE 2 - 2 HART UNITED
Friday 9 November 2007

New Marske played league leaders Hart Utd on Friday, the 1st half been a tight affair with New Marske opening the scoring in a half when they had the lions share of possession when Billy Ward slotted the ball past the advancing keeper after a good run they then should probably have increased their lead, however the Hart keeper had a fantastic game and was very commanding and the numerous corners forced by New Marske proved to be in vain as the keeper plucked the ball out of the air time and again. New Marske also had 3 free kicks in very good positions but Hart did extremely well to block these also.

Hart came out a different side in the 2nd half and started to get their passing game together and saw a lot more of the ball, eventually equalising the ball crossed in to the danger area floating over everyone and ending in the net, the goal gave Hart a further lift and from a corner they forced the ball home to take a 2-1 lead. The game then seemed to adopt a bit of a stale mate and looked to be going to fizzle out until with Bradley Pine and James Davison battling with the Hart defence the ball broke outside the box and Billy Ward ran onto it and hitting a good shot which the keeper although making a tremendous effort to save could only get his finger tips to and the ball ended up nestled in the bottom corner of the net. Final score 2-2. A result which leaves New Marske in 3rd spot.

NEW MARSKE 4 - 0 TEESSIDE ATHLETIC
Friday 2 November 2007

This was probably New Marske's best half of football as a team, they scored 4 in a terrific 1st half period when if a couple more had gone in it would not have flattered them, however the 2nd half was a different game altogether as Teesside had a real go, there was nothing in the teams and either side could have scored but the match finished 4v0.

NEW MARSKE 0 - 0 NORTH ORMESBY
Friday 26 October 2007

New Marske did enough in this match to have won it a couple of times over, but North Ormesby battled fantastically as a defensive unit and as the game went on had a couple of break-aways that on another day could easily have led to them taking all 3 points, in the end the draw was probably always on the cards with both teams sat 3rd and 4th.

NEW MARSKE 0 - 3 MARADONA 7
Friday 19 October 2007

Maradona 7 had been in sparkling form coming into the match and had been sweeping aside everything in front of them, however New Marske are made of sterner stuff lately and put on a tremendous display of disciplined football keeping a terrific shape to restrict Maradona 7 to long range efforts which never really tested, the game plan seemed to be going to go to plan until with 3 minutes remaining Maradona 7 final unlocked the heavily guarded door which which was the New Marske defence and scored, with the door now unlocked they added another 2 in the same number of minutes, however the lads should be proud of the discipline they showed and I am sure they will have learned a lot about each other as a team.

NEW MARSKE 2 - 1 BORO JUNIORS
Friday 12
October 2007

The games between these sides have always been entertaining and this one was to be no different, New Marske taking an early lead and on a few occasions in the 1st half should have killed the game off by making their superiority tell with goals. In true football terms the 2nd half was completely different with Boro dominating proceedings and with 5 minutes remaining got their deserved equaliser, and then having a period of possession when they could have gone on to win, however all their hard work was to be undone when New Marske scored what was to be the winner with a minute remaining.

NEW MARSKE 1 - 0 KLINGER LTD
Friday 5 October 2007

A re-run of the TJFA match played out 5 days earlier again saw New Marske take the lead however this time there was to be no way back for Teesside as New Marske saw the game out to win the match.

NEW MARSKE 2 - 0 LOFTUS
Friday 28 September 2007

After learning the lesson from the week previous, again New Marske pushed hard early doors and got what was to prove a commanding 2 goal lead, Loftus had a couple of good chances late on but New Marske always seemed to have enough in their locker to win the game.

NEW MARSKE 1 - 4 HART UNITED
Friday 21 September 2007

New Marske started very brightly and took a deserved lead which they held until mid way through the 2nd half, unfortunately they had no subs to call upon and after moving onto the larger pitches this season a couple of the lads could have done with a rest, the fresh legs of Hart started to see a lot of possession and after getting a deserved equaliser ran out comfortable winners, the result was not all it seemed and the lads on show gave a tremendous account of themselves but just ran out of steam in what was a longer played match and larger pitch than they had previously encountered in this league.
