TIBS 3 - 1 NEW MARSKE
Sunday 29, October 2006

With the clocks going back the boys had an extra hour in bed, unfortunately some of them had stayed there I think. New Marske were slow to get going and had to absorb lots of pressure from TIBS, but fortunately we went down their end and scored 5 minutes before half time. Unfortunately we messed about with the ball and TIB's equalised. Half Time 1 -1

Second half under way and more of the same from New Marske, slow to clear the ball and we got punished (2-1). A quick change of players and we got under way again and we were showing signs of coming back into the game, but unfortunately when you go chasing some times you get caught and we did, the TIBs player taking his goal really well (3-1). On a brighter note, the lads enjoyed it.

NEW MARSKE 0 - 6 KADER
Saturday 11, November 2006

Both sides matched each other for the first ten minutes of this match and then Kader pounced to score the first goal with New Marske failing to clear the ball. H-T 0 - 1.

Kader now had the wind behind them and it wasn't long before they got their second of the match, and what a goal. From a corner they pulled it back to the edge of the box and the scorer hit it sweet as a nut, super goal. New Marske kept on battling and thought they were rewarded for all their hard work only for the referee to disallow it. Kader kept on playing some super football and again another super goal this time a header. With some back to the wall tackling we then conceded a penalty with our keeper just failing to keep it out. New Marske never gave up and they had several attempts saved. Kader then broke free and scored the sixth of the day. New Marske battled to the end. Well done New Marske. This was a great game to watch and Kader played some super football, well done Kader.

STOKESLEY 1 - 0 NEW MARSKE
Sunday 19, November 2006

Both teams contributed to a great game to watch with all the kids full of enthusiasm never stopping and giving 100%. At half time the score was 0 - 0.

With more of the same from both teams shooting, defending and running this game looked like it was heading for a draw but unfortunately New Marske conceded a goal with only time to kick off again. This was a superb display off the lads today with the goalkeeper taking the M.O.M award. Well done!.

NEW MARSKE 2 - 1 RICHMOND
Sunday 26, November 2006

Richmond won the toss and decided to have the wind behind them. New Marske kicked off and got straight at Richmond. Richmond using the wind got the ball deep into NM penalty box where some brave defending and goal keeping had to be done, unfortunately NM goalie took a big knock and had to be subbed. Keeping up the pressure NM kept on going against a stiff breeze and were rewarded with a goal from Big Dean. More long balls from Richmond and this time our defender brought down the attacker in the box, penalty..........Big Joe got his hands to it but couldn't keep it out. Half Time: 1 - 1

NM now had the wind and with the instruction of shoot when you can this is what NM were doing, still playing football with passing and running all the time. It was from this football that NM scored their second, and what a goal Morgan picking his spot and thumping it into the back of the net. With not long to go NM defended very well keeping Richmond out. The final whistle blew and the boys were delighted.
This being our first win of the season well done boys.

SOUTH PARK RANGERS 3 - 0 NEW MARSKE
Sunday 10, December 2006
Yet again another blustery Sunday, with both teams giving their best to have a game of football. It was SPR who hit the back of the net from a well taken free kick on the edge of the box (1-0). With tough tackling from both teams it was SPR again from a well worked throw in but New Marske failed to clear and that was 2 - 0. New Marske battled hard but couldn't find the back of the net. HT: 2 - 0

KO and SPR were the quickest out the blocks making best use of the conditions, but New Marske kept them at bay and where unlucky not to score. SPR had yet another free kick and from this they scored their third. New Marske kept on going to the end but this wasn't going to be their day. Well done boys for another great display.
NEW MARSKE 4 - 1 STOKESLEY
Sunday 17, December 2006

Got up Sunday and there was no rain or no wind, brilliant. All we had to do now was get a result and enjoy the Christmas party.

Stokesley kicked off, but it was New Marske who made the early play. Stokesley then got the ball, shot and scored, well that had summed our season up so far. The boys didn't let it bother them this time they picked themselves up and got on with it. They got to the ball first time and didn't let Stokesley settle hitting them with two well taken goal from Morgan. All the boys played their part this half. HT 2-1.

We didn't want half time we were playing so well, and we continued with the same game plan, not letting Stokesley settle. With some great play all through the team New Marske scored another goal from Morgan that one giving him his Hat-Trick. 3 - 1. The Stokesley keeper pulled off the save of the season from a well taken shot. New marske were now enjoying their football and it wasn't long before they scored again this time it was Big Joe 4 - 1. Unfortunately for New Marske the game had to end, but there was some tired legs out there and the boys had given it all. Well Done!

Enjoy your break and I'll see you in the New Year.

NUNTHORPE 3 - 1 NEW MARSKE
Sunday 14, January 2007
With a delay in the KO it was Nunthorpe who eventually got the game kicked off, and it didn’t take them long to get on the score board. Keeping up the pressure they then took a two goal lead. I was sure that I said lets get at them from the start? Not to worry it’s only a game. New Marske started to get it together with some stronger tackles going in from the team but unfortunately we conceded a third. With half time approaching the boys started to get it sorted with some good passing and defending. HT: 3–0

With an inspirational half time chat the boys went into the 2nd half feeling better with what they had done in the last five minutes of the 1st half. Putting more pressure on the Nunthorpe boys it finally paid off from a well taken corner Alex H finished it off in style. We were unlucky not to score again, if it was not from some great defending and goalkeeping from Nunthorpe. Great game to watch, the boys did well after conceding two early goals. Well Done Nunthorpe. Well done boys.
THIRSK 1 - 1 NEW MARSKE
Sunday 25, February 2007

Well New Marske are on the road and it's been some time since our last game. We travel to Thirsk short on numbers so the lads will have to work their socks off if they want to win this one.

What a delight to be playing football again, the pre-match note above giving what was needed to get anything out of this match. The lads turned up and did work their socks off, we may not have won but the draw was well deserved. Maybe we should have taken all three points but that may be disrespectful to the lads who put in all the effort. New Marske played some lovely football and went in at half time 0 - 0. This came at the time when we were stretching Thirsk to the limit but couldn't find the back of the net.

Second half got under way and Thirsk must have had a right telling off because they came out playing some lovely football. Mid way through the half and Thirsk won a penalty and their number 5 put it away (1-0). New Marske boys pushed Thirsk all the way to the end and it was with minutes to go the pressure paid off when New Marske won a penalty. Our top scorer Morgan did not hesitate and slotted it home (1-1) there was only time to re-spot the ball when the referee blew for time.

Well done Thirsk and well done New Marske, entertainment value 10/10. Why watch the Boro when you get games like this?

NEW MARSKE 6 - 3 BEDALE
Sunday 4, March 2007

New Marske switched this match and made an 80 mile round trip worth every mile. Right from the start NM got at Bedale going 4 - 1 up. But with some very sloppy play NM let Bedale back into the game. HT: 4-3.

Back into the swing of the game and NM were back on top again, with tired legs on a heavy pitch, subs came on and NM slotted away 2 more goals to come out easy winners 6 - 3. Morgan completing his hat-trick, 2 more from Alex H and a single goal from MOM Dean Whitwell.

RICHMOND 2 - 2 NEW MARSKE
Sunday 18, March 2007

With blizzard condition this match didn't look like it would go ahead, but with a break in the weather we got it under way. It was New Marske who made all the early play but it was Richmond who got gifted the 2 first half goals from sloppy play in our goalmouth. HT: 2 - 0

We now had the wind behind us and carried on with the football which we had been playing in the last couple of games. It wasn't long before the pressure paid off 2 - 1 scorer Dean with good finishing from a corner. More and more pressure and with Thomas coming off the bench it was only great goalkeeping from Richmond who kept them in the game. New Marske didn't give in and it was that young man again Dean with a well deserved equaliser. 2 -2. New Marske went looking for the deserved winner but Richmond's keeper was having the game of his life.

Yet another game unbeaten, well done boys.

KADER 8 - 1 NEW MARSKE
Sunday 25, March 2007

A bit closer to home this week playing against Division Champions Kader and with 76 goal scored and only 4 conceded we knew we had a tall order.

It was quite close up to half time with Kader being gifted 2 easy goals and New Marske having chances to score.

Second half and it wasn't until the later half that our heads went down and Kader turn on the football which have taken them to be Champions. Alex H scored our goal which was much deserved, doing something that many teams hadn't manged. We will pick ourselves up and carry on playing football.

Well done Kader and all the best for the future boys.

NEW MARSKE 1 - 2 SOUTH PARK RANGERS
Sunday 15, April 2007

Superb day for football, last time we meet you couldn't stand up it was that windy. SPR got the game under way and it was well matched for the first 5 minutes. SPR broke and a pin point cross met the diving head of SPR attacker and hit the back of the net. What a goal and these boys are only 8. Much of the same again with both NM and SPR playing really sexy football, but it was SPR who won a free-kick on the edge of the box and fired in the 2nd goal, if the keeper had got hold of it his gloves would have been on fire. HT: 0-2

NM hadn't done any wrong but they were 2 goals down. With a change in formation the NM boys went out, and it was one way traffic. It wasn't long before the pressure paid off and NM had the ball in the back of the net. NM piled on the pressure with shots firing in from all over the park but SPR held their luck and manged to survive. Great game to watch, well done to SPR and NM boys, keep playing like that and next season, well who knows?
