Middlesbrough FC's Lee Cattermole presents the top scorer trophy to the
Middlesbrough Academy Friday Night League's leading marksman.

Congratulations to all those who ran and successfully completed the Junior Great North Run. I am sure all those involved will agree that the kids did themselves and New Marske Juniors proud, and were great ambassadors for the team and the club. In completing the race the kids raised money for several local and national charities. Well done lads a fantastic achievement!!!

We played in the annual tournament at South Park Rangers. There was some stiff opposition with most of the sides from either North Riding or Durham 1st divisions. However this does not seem to deter the team lately and they came through the group stage in style scoring 10 and conceding only 4. At this stage Redcar Town 'A' stood in their way of the final, however Redcar caught New Marske cold and raced into a 2 goal lead, New Marske then steadied and began to see a lot of possession pulling a goal back before half time. In the 2nd half New Marske gave it their all and threw everything they had into the match but the equaliser would not come. However they did themselves proud to reach the semi's and add another piece of silverware to their collection, the progress they are making as a team is immense.

The team travelled to Stokesley on Sunday 2 September for a pre-season friendly prior to next week's TJFA kick off. Both matches produced some good play from both sides; the first game ended in a 1-1 draw, the second match New Marske ran out convincing 4-0 winners. Both games were a pleasure to watch and on these performances the team will hopefully be a force to be reckoned with this season.
